I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, I really want to give it 5 stars but there is a huge problem. This park is neat, it is clean, it is well maintained, it is safe, there are things to do here, there is a site of historic significance, there is signage explaining the historic part of the park, and all of that is 5 star great. There is a museum on the site housed in a really nice well maintained building with a sign on it stating that it is the Lock 12 museum and that is where it all falls apart. There is no sign saying when the museum is open, or how to get in touch with someone if the museum is open by appointment, also that information is not on the web site. Some group did a great job and went the extra 5200 feet to put this park together, please go that last 80 feet to finish that mile for those that are interested in seeing the full history of this place and put up signage about what one has to do in order to see the museum. Thank you.

Didn't bother go in opted instead for nice hot cup of Nescafe when I get home. Cold damp day you want a hot cup of coffee after work. Ards are about 90% you coul will get a cup of tepid not even hot coffee.

One of the best walking trails I've come across. Well kept, but would be nice if there was more wildlife.

Great walking path

The rail trail is a great place to go year round. The lock is such a great place of history to preserve for everyone. It really is interesting to see how we used to just get from place to place. The locks on the erie canal are the same just bigger.
